Love. Honor. Truth.

I can’t believe my junior year at the University of Kentucky is almost over. It seems like it was just yesterday that I moved onto this beautiful campus and ran home to Phi Mu in the fall of 2014.  I came to this school as an out-of-state student, not knowing what I was getting myself into. Little did I know that not only I would be finding my new home for the next four years, but also my best friends for life. I joined Phi Mu to be apart of something bigger than myself, and I stayed because of the everlasting friendships of women who share the same values I do.

Phi Mu isn’t just a sorority to me, it is the feeling of belongingness, the friendships that became a sisterhood, and the place that pushed me to be the leader I am today. Phi Mu pushes me to be the best version of myself and to reach for the goals I have set. It has provided me with opportunities to put myself out there and to meet and network with Phi Mu women all across the country. It has taught me to be myself, and has made me into this confident woman I could have only dreamed of becoming. Phi Mu continues to surround me with sisters that are ambitious, encouraging, authentic, and the most kindhearted souls I have ever encountered. I am so incredibly proud to be the President of the Rho Iota chapter and I am very thankful for everything Phi Mu has given to me the last three years.

Yours truly,

Payne Thomas
